It is illegal to dispose of this item in the trash in Chittenden County, Vermont.

What you need to know:
- The CSWD facilities listed here may accept panels that do not contain any liquids as trash or scrap metal at the discretion of the Drop-Off Center Operator. Trash fees will apply, according to volume (see Household Trash tab).
- If the panel contains antifreeze: Need to be drained and bring it to the CSWD Environmental Depot, by appointment only.
- Contact Good Point Recycling, the Vermont state e-waste contractor, for options for disposing of large solar panels.
What you need to know:
- The facilities below accept up to 1 cubic yard per load of household trash.
- Our staff may need to refer large items or loads to non-CSWD facilities that are better equipped to handle them.

Payment Methods
Cash, check with name, current address and phone number, AmEx, Discover, MasterCard and Visa credit and debit cards. A 3% convenience fee will be added to all credit card transactions.
What you need to know:
- Anything that is at least 80 percent metal and contains no hazardous material can be dropped off for recycling as scrap metal. These items do not belong in the trash or the recycling bin.
- Customers must be able to lift all items over a 42″ railing without assistance from CSWD staff.
