Reuse Paper Mâché Masks
Length: 60 mins.
This fun activity practices reducing and reusing by making paper mache masks from reused cardboard and paper bags plus non-toxic paper mâché glue made from cornstarch (reducing toxicity)! After a day of drying, students can express their inner artist by decorating the mask with paint, reused bling, and/or Mother Nature’s gifts. CSWD can send various mask templates for your students to cut out prior to the visit if something other than a butterfly is desired. Materials needed: scissors, stapler, paint. CSWD supplies instruction, the pre-cut masks (butterfly), paper mâché glue, and paper.
